The expulsion does not prevent Marsh from returning to the academy later this year, but has ruled him out of contention for the conditioning tour of Sri Lanka ahead of the World Twenty20 in September, Cricket365 reports.
"While the incident in isolation was not serious, he was already on a final warning," read a Cricket Australia release. "As such, it was decided he should be sent home to Perth."
The son of former Test batsman Geoff and brother of limited-overs batsman Shaun, Marsh has played three Twenty20 Internationals and an ODI for his country.
He captained Australia to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in 2010, and was part of the Perth Scorchers side that made it to the final of the Big Bash League this year. A stress injury to his back in February, however, left him sidelined from the remainder of the domestic season.
